TERM
The FotoWeek DC Mobile Phone Contest 2011 begins November 4, 2011, at 5 pm EDT and ends November 11, 2011, at 8 pm EDT. Your images must be captured on your mobile phone camera during 2011.
WHO MAY ENTER
Open to all ages, amateur and professional photographers.
HOW TO ENTER
All entries must be submitted electronically, at the official website:
http://fotoweek.nielsencontests.com.
There is no mail-in method of entry.
Once the registration process has been completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Simply log onto the website and follow the online instructions to
upload images from your computer. Submit the image at highest resolution available.
FEES
$3.95 per 1 upload, $6.95 per batch of 3 or $9.95 per batch of 5. You can submit 15 images for $20. No limit to number of entries.
THEME
"Fotoweek Through the Mobile lens." Mobile devices allows you to get up close so don't be afraid to capture intimate moments, abstract macros, candid street photos, night projects, and what FotoWeek DC means to you this year as you walk around DC and experience all of our events.
JUDGING
The mobile phone images will be judged by the Team at FotoWeek DC. Decisions of the judges are final.
CONTEST FINALISTS AND WINNER
- Grand prize is an iPad 2.
- Three runner ups will receive $100 Apple gift cards.
- Two ipod shuffles will be given away at the closing ceremony at random.
- Projections! Winning images will be projected during the closing party at our new FotoSpace Gallery (1838 Columbia Road, Washington DC 20009) on November 12th,and throughout the week submissions will be showcased in the FotoDC blog.
- Selected favorites will also be looked on the festival website throughout the year.
RELEASES
Prior to submitting photographs, you are responsible for obtaining permission of your subjects if your work contains any material or elements that are not owned by you. FotoWeek DC reserves the right to use the images submitted in promotional materials in conjunction with FotoWeek DC in 2011 and beyond. Photographer retains all rights of ownership of photographs submitted.
PARENTS/LEGAL GUARDIANS
If a child is a potential winner, you will be required to verify the eligibility of the work submitted, confirm permission for the email address used to upload the work, and authorize release of the work submitted by your child.
WILL MY IMAGES BE SOLD?
No. You retain copyright to your photograph and the Sponsors may not sell your photo entry for a fee. Winning entries may be used by FotoWeek DC, a non-profit organization, in connection with FotoWeekDC & FotoDC in perpetuity.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By participating, entrants (and their parents or legal guardians) agree to release, discharge and hold harmless FotoWeek DC, and its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest or any contest-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
Sponsors are not responsible for any computer-related, online, or technical malfunctions that may occur. Entries are void if they are incomplete, counterfeit, produced in error, or obtained through fraud or theft. By entering the contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
CONDITIONS
This Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Entries are void if the Sponsor determines the entries are not original, illegible, incomplete, damaged, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft.
Participants also agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules; (b) that the decisions of the Judges are final on all matters relating to the Contest; and (c) if he/she wins, that Sponsor may use the winner's name, photograph, likeness in any publicity or advertising relating to the Contest or future promotions without compensation or approval (except where prohibited by law). All federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. In the event that the selected winner(s) of any prize are/is ineligible or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may choose whether to award the prize to another winner.
CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
